Historische Videos vom National Archive bei Google
Das amerikanische National Archive hat eine Kooperation mit Google angekündigt. Zusammen werden die beiden historische Filme und Dokumentation der breiten Öffentlichkeit zur Verfügung stellen. Google bietet natürlich die Plattform und das Archive kümmert sich um das nötige Filmmaterial.

Our new strategic plan emphasizes the importance of providing access to records anytime, anywhere. This is one of many initiatives that we are launching to make our goal a reality. For the first time, the public will be able to view this collection of rare and unusual films on the Internet.

Die ersten Videos sind bereits hochgeladen und können bestaunt werden. Es ist ganz interessant, dass man nun auch so alte Klassiker wieder aus der Kiste geholt hat. Das ganze ist auf jeden Fall den einen oder anderen Blick wert – zumal dieses Archiv wohl noch mächtig wachsen dürfte. Und sogar Perlen wie der erste Mondlandung oder ein Video von 1894 finden sich schon darunter!
