Google übernimmt Open-Sensing-StartUp Behavio

Vor einigen Tagen hat Google das StartUp Behavio übernommen, dass sich auf das Sammeln und Auswerten von Daten über den Smartphone-Nutzer spezialisiert hat. Die 3 Gründer des Unternehmens und deren Technologie wechseln zu Google, das bis dato einzige Produkt wird von Google aber nicht weiter entwickelt.

Behavio betreibt das „Open Sensing Network“ funf, das von Entwicklern innerhalb weniger Minuten in die eigene App integriert und genutzt werden kann. Funf sammelt Daten über alle Aktionen des Android-Nutzers und wertet diese im Hintergrund aus. Anhand dessen soll das Smartphone seinen Nutzer kennen lernen und bestimmte Aktionen vorschlagen.

Google könnte diese Technologie sehr gut in Google Now integrieren, die App die es sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat dem Nutzer Informationen anzuzeigen, bevor er selbst weiß dass er sie brauchen wird. Funf wertet dafür etwa die geographischen Bewegungen des Smartphones, die Anrufstatistiken und die häufigsten Kontakte aus.

Die Technologie soll nun innerhalb und mit Hilfe von Google weiter entwickelt und praktisch eingesetzt werden, das Framework „funf“ allerdings wird von Google offiziell nicht weiter entwickelt. Die Gründer haben angekündigt den Code in ihrer Freizeit zu warten, was über kurz oder lang mit der Einstellung des Projekts gleichgesetzt werden kann.

In the comings days we will be shutting down our closed alpha program. Going forward, we will continue to maintain the Funf open source project, and look forward to working on exciting things within Google.
