YouTube Easteregg: ASCII-Suche zur Ankündigung der YouTube GeekWeek

 

YouTube startet mal wieder eine Themenwoche zur Promotion von beliebten Kanälen: Die GeekWeek findet vom 4. bis zum 10. August direkt auf der Videoplattform statt und stellt alles rund um das Thema „Geek“ in den Mittelpunkt. Schon jetzt, mehr als 1 Woche vor der Veranstaltung, gibt es das erste Easteregg dass die YouTube-Suche im ASCII-Format ausliefert.

Mit der GeekWeek zelebriert YouTube ein Thema für alle Nerds, Internet-Begeisterte oder wie man diese große Nutzergruppe sonst noch nennen möchte: Für uns. Während dieser Woche steht jeden Tag ein anderes Thema im Mittelpunkt zu dem die Kanäle bestimmte Inhalte produzieren und dann von YouTube promotet werden. Dadurch verspricht man sich explodierende Abo-Zahlen der teilnehmenden Kanäle – und es könnte funktioniert.

Hier der Fahrplan für die GeekWeek:
Blockbuster Sunday: A celebration of the iconic characters, movies and shows that define geek culture – plus a spotlight on the best original YouTube sci-fi, fantasy and animation. Hosted by FreddieW.
Global Geekery Monday: Anime from Tokyo, comic-book heroes from Delhi and a celebration of Doctor Who. Explore geek culture from around the world. Hosted by YOMYOMF.
Brainiac Tuesday: Science, education and knowledge channels that make YouTube the world’s biggest platform for learning. Hosted by Veritasium and The Spangler Effect.
Super Wednesday: From hilarious parodies to real-life super-powers, explore superheroes, the supernatural and the super-weird. Plus, released exclusively for Geek Week, the trailer for Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World. Hosted by Stan Lee’s World of Heroes.
Gaming Thursday: A gamers paradise, with live play-throughs, videogames in real life, game-inspired original series and much more. Hosted by Machinima and Maker Studios’ Polaris
Fan Friday: Sci-fi-themed cooking, incredible cosplay and impassioned nerd debates as YouTube’s biggest fans take center-stage. Hosted by Geek and Sundry.

In dieser Woche soll es auch eine ganze Reihe von Eastereggs auf den Kanälen und der Plattform geben, wobei eines schon jetzt aktiv ist und gerade die Runde im Web macht: Gebt einfach in der YouTube-Suche vor dem Suchbegriff ein Slash gefolgt von einem Leerzeichen und der Suchanfrage ein (/ GeekWeek) und torpediert euch 20 Jahre in die Vergangenheit in die Zeit der Textbrowser 😉
